HISTORY
THE GENEVA PIPE STORY
A Company to be Trusted
The Geneva Pipe Company was founded by Joe Burnham in 1956. It was located on thirteen
acres in the present location of the corporate offices in Orem, Utah. It was a small facility with
one Eckles Tamp Machine that could only produce pipe in the sizes of 4 to 36 inches in diameter and
only 4 feet in length. Little did Mr. Burnham realize that his vision would grow into four facilities
with the capacity of fabricating pipe up to 12 feet in diameter and box culvert with spans out to 14 feet.
In 1960 Mr. Burnham met a young trucking entrepreneur named Aldo Bussio and was
sufficiently impressed with him to enter into a partnership. Upon Mr. Burnham’s retirement Mr. Bussio
became the sole owner of Geneva Pipe in 1977. The industry would later prove the wisdom of Mr. Burnham’s
choice when they elected Mr. Bussio as Chairman of the Board of the American Concrete Pipe Association in
1990. The industry again awarded Mr. Bussio for his contributions in 2005 with the Richard E. Barnes
Lifetime Achievement Award.
With a belief in quality products, and a strong customer focus, the company has changed
in size through the years as it responded to the needs of the communities it serviced. Currently, Geneva
Pipe has manufacturing facilities in Orem and Hurricane, Utah, and a plant in Moapa, Nevada to service
the ever growing markets in Utah and southern Nevada. Through out the years there have been facilities
in other locations that have been moved or sold depending on economics of their market and locations.

Currently, Geneva Pipe is expanding to meet the needs of growing area markets with
new state-of-the-art facilities in Salt Lake City and St. George, Utah. Always quality driven, the
Salt Lake facility will have an all robotic pipe handling system. In the recently opened new metal
fabrication facility, located in Orem, Utah, Geneva Pipe fabricates a great deal of the equipment
needed for its facilities. Continuing the company’s philosophy of modernization, Geneva Pipe completed
refurbishment of the Orem, Utah facility in 1997. Brought on line in May, 2000, the Moapa plant was
built new to meet the rising demand of the Las Vegas community. With the completion of the St. George
plant projected for spring, 2007, the Hurricane plant will be closed.
